The breeder will pay the price of the puppy plus a breeding fee. This varies quite a bit in price. I have seen puppies of parents with parenting health tests. Puppy prices should be determined not so much by what is required to raise a litter, but rather by averaging the overall cost of breeding.

In both cases, it shows breeders what type of investment they are realistically looking for with any decision to raise a litter. So why do some breeders charge more than other breeders for their puppies? Part of the problem is that we have a wide variety of what people do while raising their puppies. It's amazing how you can have a horrible day and go to the area where your litter of puppies is located and lie down and let them crawl all over you and all of a sudden you can't even remember why you were having a bad day.
